Tanka Fund welcomes new rancher partners Jayce and Kassy Doan

Jayce and Kassy Doan of Hazelton, ND, have joined Tanka Fund as our newest Native Buffalo rancher partners.

The Doans own Black Leg Ranch, a 17,000 acres spread located 25 miles southeast of Bismarck N.D. They use holistic management to regenerate the grassland and to manage native grasslands, cropland, wildlife, and livestock. As a result, Black Leg Ranch has been granted a variety of awards, including:

  • N.D. Environmental Stewardship Award

  • Region IIV Environmental Stewardship Award

  • National Environmental Stewardship Award

  • Inaugural Aldo Leopold Conservation Award

  • Burleigh County N.D. Soil Health Award
