At Tanka Fund, we work directly with Native American Buffalo caretakers to return Buffalo to their homelands and to provide funding for their care.
We are the only organization that works solely with and financially funds Native American family- and community-owned Buffalo ranches.

One of our ranchers is only 5½ miles away from completing the more than 40 miles of Buffalo fencing he needs to become a Buffalo caretaker.
Help provide water for remote Buffalo herds
Some of our Buffalo caretakers live on ranches where accessible water sources are deep underground or miles away. For some, the only solution is a well pump system that runs on solar power.
