WAYNE FREDERICK
Wayne holds a Bachelor of Human Services/Criminal Justice degree and an Associates of Arts degree in Diesel Technology, reflecting his diverse educational background. Currently, Wayne is serving his second term as a Tribal Council Representative of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, a position he holds with great honor.
In 2010, Wayne, along with his wife Alex, their son Cedar, and daughter Summer, embarked on a remarkable journey by taking over the ranch full time. They embraced holistic grazing practices, leading to the restoration and protection of the grasslands and wildlife. Fulfilling their lifelong aspiration, they introduced buffalo to the ranch with the invaluable assistance of Tanka Fund.
Prior to this venture, Wayne and his family took immense pride in raising grass-fed beef, aiming to provide the tribe and local community with a healthier and affordable meat supply. Their business, RezRaised, exemplified the concept of raising high-quality meat locally by tribal members. Wayne and his family believe in the positive impact of a healthy diet and have actively participated in local farmers markets, offering meat sales. During the challenging times of the pandemic, they generously donated meat to families in quarantine, recognizing the profound significance of food as medicine.
Wayne Frederick’s extensive ranching experience, steadfast commitment to sustainable practices, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his tribal community make him an excellent asset as a board member. His wealth of insights and expertise greatly contribute to board discussions and decision-making processes.
