Since so many of you have asked:
Due to the current U.S. government funding freeze, all Tanka Fund projects relating to our beef and bison commodities incentives program to help Native Buffalo ranchers with prairie restoration through long-term land management practices have been paused until further notice. We are hopeful that the program will be allowed to continue once all grant evaluations are completed at the Department of Agriculture.
The impact to Tanka Fund could represent a loss up to $1 million a year. We believe this project is essential to our work to return Buffalo to healthy Native lands. Our plan was to provide these technical services to our ranchers even after the grant ended. If you would like to help us continue this important work, with or without the grant funds, you can: DONATE HERE
As always, thank you for your support for Tanka Fund,
Dawn Sherman, executive director
