Regional Buffalo to Schools Conference in Rapid City, SD, June 21-24

School food service professionals, school administrators, teachers, Tribal herd managers, ranchers, processors, and others are invited to attend the Regional Buffalo to Schools Conference in Rapid City, SD, in June.

Tanka Fund is collaborating with several other partners on the conference, including the Intertribal Buffalo Council, Intertribal Agriculture Council, Montana Partnership to End Childhood Hunger, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Buffalo Authority Corporation, the Great Plains Food Sovereignty Corporation, World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and more.

The schedule is as follows:

June 21-22: Traditional Buffalo Harvest, 777 Ranch, south of Rapid City.

June 23-24: Conference at Western Dakota Technical College, Rapid City, for school food service professionals, school administrators, teachers, Tribal herd managers, ranchers, processors, and others.

Hands-on, school meal culinary workshops with Buffalo meat will be available.
