Food Sovereignty Summit - ‘Buffalo Fencing Considerations: Challenges and Successes’
Dawn Sherman, executive director of Tanka Fund, presented on “Buffalo Fencing Considerations: Challenges and Successes” at the First Nations Development Institute Food Sovereignty Summit, Oct. 16-17, in Suquamish, WA.
The summit, held this year at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, is a national forum for sharing and collaborating to build healthy food systems within Native American communities. Attendees included people from tribal communities across the country who are actively involved in food sovereignty work, including caring for our land, sustaining food systems, and strengthening Tribal Sovereignty and partnerships between Native nations.
